Magical City

San Francisco is such a wonderful, magical, fantastical city! I have to also state that there is a sad and scary side to this place, as well.

Example: as I paused outside my hotel to determine which direction I should take, I was accosted by a man with a boombox. He said he was just trying to 'get some sex.' 'Don't look at me, I'm married!' His reply was something along the lines of not necessarily with me. I waved him off as he tried to continue talking to me. At least people leave you alone if you don't want to help them. Well, except for one man down by the piers. After dark, he scares passers-by who don't notice him sitting there by the fence. I swear he was there eight years ago, too, when we visited before.

Tonight we visit Alcatraz at sunset. I've been told that place is creepy, too, but we shall see.

Our hotel is called Fusion. It's a good name for San Francisco, I think. This place is such a mix of old-world style juxtaposed with new, ultra-modern styles and ideas.

Question: why do gay guys flirt with girls? Oh, it makes a girl feel good, to have a 'safe' guy flirt with her, but I just wonder the reason, when he doesn't want to follow-up. Yeah, there is a lot of time to think about things on the way to places around here.

I went to the San Francisco Wholesale Flower Market this morning. I have never seen so many orchids all in one place--and that was just a couple of the dozens of vendors there! I took pictures, which I will upload later--maybe tomorrow morning.

For now, I think I will take a little cruise to one of the shopping neighborhoods to get some lunch and window shopping in. So much to see, and so little time!

By the way, the weather has been fantastic! Not too hot in the daytime and not too cold in the evening. Some people around here say it's boring.
